  • Steven Millard Elementary is a wonderful school. All of my teachers are nice, and they teach well. I enjoyed using the wonderful playground during recess. Steven Millard Elementary prepared me well for junior high and high school.

I really only want to give this school a 1.5. I started in 3rd grade. Mrs. Castle was my 3rd grade teacher, and she was really nice. The next year, 4th grade, I had Mrs. Downing, and she was actually THE BEST teacher I ever had. In 5th grade, things took a turn. I got Ms.Gleichmann. This teacher is not favorable to ANY students. She used to always be really bossy and rude about some of the smallest things. She liked to take control over things that should really be under the control of the students. For example, SHE EVEN HAD CONTROL OVER WHAT PENCIL WE USED. She got MAD VERY FREQUENTLY, and in the end, it would just bring you down. Her TEACHING was also HORRIBLE. In 4th Grade, I got the Honor Roll Award for all 3 trimesters, since I had Mrs. Downing, the best teacher at Millard. In Ms. Gleichmann's class, I only got Honor Roll during the last trimester. 5th grade was just my most TERRIBLE year at Millard. Luckily though, in 6th grade, we got all 3 of the 6th grade teachers, Mr.Luu, Ms.Dobroff, and Mrs. Hart for our subjects, so it really helps get a feel of how junior high will be. All 3 of my 6th grade teachers were nice to us. The only fun prep teacher we had was Mr. Downing for Computer Lab. Man those periods were the BEST! That period was all anyone looked forward to. So to all parents, don't make this mistake, and PUT YOU CHILD IN A DIFFERENT SCHOOL, UNLESS YOU REALLY WANT AN EXPERIENCE THAT WILL MAKE YOU AND YOUR CHILD WANT TO PULL OUT YOUR HAIR, PUNCH YOUR PC, OR COMMIT SUICIDE. (P.S THIS SCHOOL HAS BEEN CURSED WITH THE PRINCIPAL MRS. ROBERTSON)

RUN AWAY FAST They tried changing placement of my special needs child at 30 day IEP, rather than work toward a solution. When I didn't agree to the new placement, they found "cause" to place her in a 2-adult hold just before the new meeting. She's had many assistants over the years (in home, office, clinics, out in the world) and no one has come close to needing to restrain her. But these folks found no other way. In the IEP meetings, the principal was a bully- interrupting, over speaking, using volume as a tool to be the biggest person in the room. Every time. I pulled my kid before it could go further. She started in Feb and I pulled her in May. YOU ARE WARNED.
